Disabling/Removing Pop-up Software
Disabling pop-up software: Many pop-up programs will let you temporarily disable them by right-clicking on their "System Tray" icons and choosing to disable them. You can go back and re-enable them later.
Removing pop-up software: Some pop-up programs require that you remove them because they cannot be temporarily disabled. If you want to remove the software instead of disabling it, you can remove it by using Windows' Add/Remove Program tool. Here's how.
- Click on the Start button, which is usually located in the lower-left part of your screen.
- Select Settings, then Control Panel. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Look for the name of the pop-up program you want to remove (e.g., AdFilter).
- Click the program's name, then click Remove.
Follow the instructions on the screen, then close the window. |
